History

The North Texas Mickey Mantle League has hosted league play for teams across the North Dallas area since 1985. BJ Dixon (President and Founder of The NTMM league) based and built the league around Al Alford Field in McKinney, Texas. Al Alford was a dedicated man of baseball and wanted to give players in the area the opportunity to not only play the game, but play on the finest facility in the Metro-Plex.

In 1995, the NTMM league and Al Alford Field were recognized as the host league and facility for the AABC Mickey Mantle World Series. Original rules placed into the NTMM league prohibited teams to qualify for the World Series birth if they did not have a high percentage of local players. In 2011 NTMM President, V.P. and league directors placed a World Series Division into the league allowing teams from across the area to compete for the birth.

The 2012 season will mark the 17th consecutive year Al Alford Field plays host to the NTMM league and AABC Mickey Mantle World Series.
